Owners of Cowboy Campout - Barn & Breakfast
Don Hutson and Debra Ford met 3 years ago on a horse back ride in the Sam Houston Forest. An equine coach and horse trainer (who also conducts the Conroe Symphony), Don had invited the avid horse lover, and then volunteer for a therapeutic riding stable, Debra for a weekly 3-hour ride with friends in the forest. That's all she wrote as they say.
Debra, a hospitality and marketing professional who has spent 20+ years marketing a variety of leisure attractions including Six Flags, Houston Museum of Natural Science, Houston Zoo, Hotel Derek and others, found the idea of creating a unique and special destination especially appealing. Don, a natural with horses had already launched the successful equine leadership training company,
Cowboy Solution. So, the love of horses and the outdoors culminated in this quaint, cowboy chic barn and breakfast.
Cowboy Campout first originated 2 years ago for friends. Don and Debra loved entertaining friends from the "city" at their 15-acre horse ranch outside Montgomery. The first campout amounted to 15 people huddled around a fire pit, sleeping in tents. But, everyone had a blast. And, Cowboy Campout was born.
The two set about converting the original horse barn into 6 individual rooms--a cowboy chic bunkhouse, where guests can get away from it all, recalling the simple pleasures of life. Good friends, good food and good times. Watching a shooting star, playing with horses or fishing for perch. That's really what Cowboy Campout is all about.
We invite you to join us anytime. We promise to help you plan an outing that your friends, family, guest and colleagues will remember for a very long time.
